SPACE RECORDER begun its existence in the heads of Rucho (Richard Ďurana) and Kexik (Matej Babjak). Using three guitars, bass, flute, cheap microphone and computer they soon came up with their own form of indietronica. SPACE RECORDER's favourite bands such as Pink Floyd or Suzanne Vega in early days, later Four Tet, Her Space Holidays as well as Spiritualized; more recently genres of indie and electro have provided them with the opportunity to use the strong creative synergy of those two friends. The “existoopticist” lyrics, which is “a combination of destructive existentialism with the endless optimism of the heroes”, are complementary part of the duo's product that is so far reflected by their first release Backup Universe (Deadred Records, 2009).
