Karol Mikloš
Karol started his solo career in 1993 after he left Shellwoy, his first band, influenced by The Cure. His debut The Same Mist Here (G.A. Records, 1997), which brought Karol closer towards the British 80's and 90's guitar bands earned him a nomination for the best new act in the Slovak Grammy Awards. His second album Vis-a-Vis (Millenium Records, 2002), which contained also Slovak lyrics as well as Karol's first flirts with the electronic music, earned him a IFPI Aurel nomination for the singer of the year in Slovakia. His third release The Past Of The Future (Deadred Records, 2008) is so far the most mature material from the artist, and shows Karol's developed gift for the strong nostalgic melodies as well as experiences and observations reflected in his lyrics.
